Convert WebP to PNG

Drop WEBP files and download them as PNG. The conversion runs on your device.

Convert to
Drop WEBP files to convert to PNGJPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and more. Nothing is uploaded. You can also paste a screenshot.

How it works

  1. The output is set to PNG.
  2. PNG has no quality setting; the pixels are kept exactly.
  3. Drop your WEBP files; other formats work too.
  4. Download one, or all as a ZIP.

Why convert WEBP to PNG

Choose PNG when the WebP has a transparent background you need to keep, or when the image is going into an editor, a slide deck or a print job that wants lossless pixels.

What changes in the file

The conversion is lossless from here on and transparency is kept. The PNG is larger than the WebP, sometimes by a lot for photographic content.

Questions

Does the transparent background survive?

Yes. PNG keeps the alpha channel exactly, so logos and cut-outs stay clean.

Why is my PNG 3 MB when the WebP was 200 KB?

WebP compresses photos aggressively; PNG stores each pixel. For photos, JPG is the smaller universal choice.

Is anything lost in the conversion?

No. PNG keeps exactly the pixels the browser decoded from the WebP.
